Bonding is used to close gaps, repair chips or cracks and reshape teeth. The bonding material is a composite resin that is applied to the tooth and is a great alternative for anyone who doesn’t want the look of silver in their mouths or the expense of veneers.
How it works
During bonding we initially remove any decay and clean the area, then the tooth is prepped with a liquid and a bonding agent is then applied. The resin is then placed into the tooth and trimmed, leaving you with a full natural looking tooth.
White fillings are now considered by many to be the standard in cosmetic dental care. Most people want to avoid the metal mouth look of silver fillings and the sensitivity that sometimes occurs. Besides being tooth colored, white fillings seal and bond to the tooth structure and therefore can be more resistant to decay.
